Why we tune on ThunderMax.
ThunderMax isn’t a flash or a piggyback — it’s a complete replacement ECM with wideband AutoTune built in. It reads your bike’s actual exhaust air-fuel ratio while you ride and keeps correcting the fueling on its own.
That’s the whole point. Arizona doesn’t sit still — weather, altitude, and every part you bolt on change what the engine needs. A one-and-done tune can’t keep up with that. ThunderMax never stops adjusting, so the bike stays dialed long after it leaves the shop.
So here’s the deal: we’ll install a cam, exhaust, or intake on any bike. But once you change how the engine breathes, it needs a brain that can keep it tuned. That’s why anything requiring a tune gets built on ThunderMax — not brand loyalty, just the system that actually does the job right.
- Self-correcting
Reads real AFR and trims fueling in real time, every ride — no guesswork.
- Adapts automatically
Adjusts for weather, altitude, and new parts without dragging it back in.
- Tuned once, stays dialed
Fewer trips back and a bike that keeps running right down the road.
Even a stock bike wakes up with a real tune.
The factory tune is a compromise — written for emissions and for every bike coming off the line, not for yours. Even bone-stock, a ThunderMax and a proper calibration clean up the fueling Harley left on the table.
These are air-cooled V-twins, so we’ll be straight with you — no miracles, no magic numbers. What you get is a bike that runs the way it should. Bolt on parts and it matters even more, but you don’t need a built motor to feel the difference.
Not local? We’ll tune your bike remotely.
You don’t have to be in Arizona — or anywhere near the shop. If you’ve got a laptop, the ThunderMax software, and the tuning cable plugged into your bike, we handle the whole thing remotely.
We remote into your computer, build a custom tune, and send it straight to you. Then we walk you through running AutoTune and the software yourself, so you actually understand what your bike is doing — and we circle back later to read your logged data and write fresh settings to the bike.
- All you need on your end
A Windows laptop, the ThunderMax TMax Tuner software, and the USB tuning cable plugged into your bike.
- We build it, you ride it
We remote in, set up your tune, and send it — then teach you how to run AutoTune yourself.
- We come back for the refinements
Later we reconnect, read your data, and write updated settings as the bike learns.
Four steps from rough to refined.
Baseline
We see exactly where your bike sits today — AFR, timing, temps, and how it’s running.
Calibrate
Custom AFR and timing maps written to your combo and the way you ride.
Dial in
AutoTune learns and locks in your fueling under real riding conditions — not just idling in the shop.
Ride
You leave with a bike that keeps correcting itself, ride after ride.
Let’s get your bagger dialed.
Tell us what you ride and what it’s running. We’ll line up a tune, a service, or a build that fits your bike and the desert it lives in.
